Switch over to the slow lane of life in beautiful Coín

The Costa del Sol is home to some world-famous seaside destinations, of course, but it’s always worth heading inland as well when you’re looking to start a new life in Spain. One of the more popular interior locations is Coín, a tranquil and attractive town that has everything you need for a hugely enjoyable journey.

There are more than 20,000 people living here, and a significant proportion of those are ex-pats. Coín is located some 33km west of Malaga and around 30km to the north of Marbella. Don’t worry if you still want to make the most of the region’s celebrated beaches, because a number of them are within easy reach.

One of the more pleasing aspects of life in Coín is that it enables you to assimilate fully into the Spanish way of life. The town is home to a great selection of tapas bars, restaurants and bars, where you can make the most of the fabulous Andalusian cuisine while you soak up the culture of this wonderful part of the world.

If you want to make the most of your relocation, learning to speak Spanish can be a major advantage. Needless to say, if you have children and they attend the local schools they will pick up the language in no time. Within a suitable timeframe, you and your family will be living life as Spaniards and enjoying every moment of the process

Get back to nature at the Barranco Blanco

Lovers of nature will want to explore the surrounding areas, including the celebrated Barranco Blanco (White Ravine). Here you’ll find some stunning countryside, crystal clear waters and a fabulous selection of wildflowers. It’s the perfect spot for a picnic on a summer afternoon with family and friends.

Shopping is always enjoyable in Coín, thanks to a proliferation of stores selling all you’ll ever need. There’s a good shopping centre here, La Trocha Centro Comercial, not to mention plenty of supermarkets. In the town centre, you’ll also find some wonderful independent stores, many of them located in quaint little back streets.

While the coast is simple to drive to from Coín, there are several bus routes which can get you to the seaside easily and cheaply. In addition, you can also get the bus to Malaga should you wish to spend a day in the city or perhaps get to the airport. Public transport is generally very affordable in Spain.

You’ll find a wide variety of property options in Coín, and Simply Costa Developments can help you find the ideal new home. Whether you’re looking for stylish apartments in the town centre or iconic whitewashed villas in the suburbs, we can help you find it.
